Position Title:  Registered Nurse, Aide, or LPN – Hospice House

Full-Time (40 hours)*
Shift: 11pm-7:30am

*Must have flexibility as evening and weekend hours may be required
* May be required to work in the Home Program as needed

DUTIES:

  • Perform assessment of assigned patients and derive nursing diagnoses based on assessment data.
  • Plan nursing interventions in collaboration with the interdisciplinary team to resolve current problems or prevent potential problems.
  • Provide teaching to patients/families to assist in the patients’ comfort as needed.
  • Provide emotional support to patients/families in a manner that fosters independence and affirms existing strengths.
  • Assess the need for home health aide services.
  • Assess and provide pain management strategies to assist with the patient’s comfort.
  • Promote working in a team environment.
  • Comply with policies and procedures of Hospice of Huntington, Inc.
  • Protects the confidentiality of private health care information of patients.
  • Promote the philosophy and services of Hospice of Huntington, Inc.

POSITION QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Graduate of an accredited professional school of nursing; BSN preferred.
  • Licensed registered nurse in West Virginia and Ohio.
  • Minimum of 2 years nursing experience; home health or hospice nursing preferred.

Position: Part-time/Full-time Accountant

POSITION SCOPE:

The accountant is responsible for working alongside the CFO and actively participating in responsibilities and duties of the position; identifies opportunities for improved fiscal viability; acts as a backup for payroll; participates in the QAPI program and creates reports for analysis by various departments. The Accountant works closely with the development department to ensure clear communication in matter of finance.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

  • Prepares and sends the accounts payable for services
  • Enters cost information into patient database
  • Backup for Payroll in preparing payroll for employees bi-weekly
  • Backup trained in all aspects of financial system
  • Creates reports for analysis for clinical staff review.
  • Reconciles accounts payable, inventory and bank accounts.
  • Identify and track QAPI projects to identify areas for improvement
  • Ensures communication and documentation with the development department of activities that affect the finances.
  • Analyzes expense accounts for accuracy and trends
  • Identifies opportunities for improved fiscal viability
  • Performs computer and clerical duties
  • Protects the confidentiality of private health care information of patients
  • Complies with policies and procedures of Hospice of Huntington, Inc.
  • Represents and maintains the philosophy of Hospice of Huntington, Inc.
  • Other job duties as required

POSITION QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Undergraduate degree in business or accounting, CPA preferred.
  • Minimum of 2 years experience, health care preferred
  • Must possess excellent knowledge of computer programs; be proficient in use, and management of Excel Spreadsheets
  • Attention to detail, accurate with financial and accounting data.
  • Strong critical-thinking skills and the ability to problem-solve.
  • Skilled in communication (oral and written), organization, and customer service.
  • Ability to meet deadlines.

Position: Full-time RN Team Manager - West Virginia and Ohio Nursing Facilities*

DUTIES:

  • Perform assessment of assigned patients and derive nursing diagnoses based on assessment data.
  • Plan nursing interventions in collaboration with the interdisciplinary team to resolve current problems or prevent potential problems.
  • Provide teaching to patients/families to assist in the patient’s comfort as needed.
  • Provide emotional support to patients/families in a manner that fosters independence and affirms existing strengths.
  • Assess the need for home health aide services.
  • Assess and provide pain management strategies to assist with the patient’s comfort.
  • Promote working in a team environment.
  • Provide management of team to ensure continuity of care for Hospice patients and families.

POSITION QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Graduate of an accredited professional school of nursing; BSN preferred.
  • Licensed registered nurse in West Virginia and Ohio.

Position: RN After Hours* FULL-TIME FLOAT / Admissions FOR HOME CARE**

*Must have flexibility as evening and weekend hours may be required

DUTIES:

  • Perform assessment of assigned patients and derive nursing diagnoses based on assessment data.
  • Evaluates patient for appropriateness for admission
  • Plan nursing interventions in collaboration with the interdisciplinary team to resolve current problems or prevent potential problems.
  • Provide teaching to patients/families to assist in the patients’ comfort as needed.
  • Provide emotional support to patients/families in a manner that fosters independence and affirms existing strengths.
  • Assess the need for home health aide services.
  • Assess and provide pain management strategies to assist with the patient’s comfort.
  • Provides information about hospice program to potential hospice patients and referral sources.
  • Assesses eligibility of potential hospice patients in collaboration with the interdisciplinary team.
  • Initiates the physical assessment and plan of care for each patient admission
  • Promote working in a team environment.
  • Protects the confidentiality of private health care information of patients.
  • Promote the philosophy and services of Hospice of Huntington, Inc.
  • Other job duties as assigned

  • Performs and/or assists the patient with personal care activities as prescribed on the Hospice Aide plan of care.
  • Performs and/or assists the patient/family with light housekeeping and meal preparation.
  • Reports patient status changes to the interdisciplinary team as needed.
  • Maintains current and accurate documentation.
  • Complies with policies and procedures of Hospice of Huntington, Inc.
  • Protects the confidentiality of private health care information of patients.
  • Represents the services and philosophy of Hospice of Huntington, Inc.

Per-diem Cook at Emogene Dolin Jones Hospice House

DUTIES:

  • Prepare and plate food for patients guest
  • Keep kitchen in a neat, clean and healthy working environment.
  • Receive food and stock, monitor deliveries, place food or stock in the proper areas.
  • Complete daily cleaning and detailed cleaning of kitchens and kitchen equipment.
  • Follow the guidelines set by the Cabell County Health Department.

POSITION QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Must possess a current Cabell County Food Handlers Card.
  • Must have reliable transportation.
  • Must be able to read and follow directions and recipes.
  • Must be able to monitor food quality and temperatures to be within the critical control points.
  • Must be able to lift items up to 50lbs.
  • Must be able to work with high temperature foods and equipment.
  • Must work with sharp utensils and equipment.
  • Other duties may be assigned on an as-needed basis.

 

Position Title: RN Team Manager (Full-time)*
